Interview with Andrew Belle:

We know you are based out of Chicago and Nashville. What feels more like home?

I always tell people that Chicago satiates everything I could ever ask for in relation to food, friends, sports, and family (my favorite things). And for that reason, it will always be my true home. The home you go back to for weddings and holidays; graduations and birthdays. But Nashville, over the past year, has become my home for more grown up reasons. It’s where I come back to after being out on the road for months at a time. It’s where I come to create and record my music. The artist community I’ve been lucky enough to fall into down here is unparalleled; constantly helping me to grow as an artist; and for those reasons, it has started to become my home….away from home.

Your music has been on some of the hottest shows out there! How did it make you feel when you first watched a television montage with your music?

Extremely flattered and blessed is really the only way to describe my feelings about my songs being used in so many hip tv shows these past few months. For years, shows like Grey’s Anatomy have been helping break young, new artists and I can remember 2-3 years ago when i started writing my very first songs – i was like ‘I want this song to be on Grey’s Anatomy’ or ‘this song would be perfect for a scene where somebody is dying in a hospital bed.’ I mean, I literally wrote my newest single ‘In My Veins’ with a Grey’s Anatomy finale in mind…and 1 year later, it’s featured in the season 6 finale. It’s ridiculous how blessed I’ve been this year.

What’s the best and worst thing about being a musician to you?

Best thing: Doing what you love to do, bringing songs to life that you created in your head, and then watching them go out into the world and find meaning in other people’s lives. Very rewarding. Worst things: Inconsistency. Instability. Never being home. Maintaining relationships.

What is your favorite memory (so far) of your musical journey?

Gosh, there have been a bunch in the past 12 months…the one that sticks out the most is probably the final show of the Ten out of Tenn: Christmas Tour that I was a part of in December of this past year. It was our hometown show in Nashville after being out west for 3 weeks. We sold out the Exit/In, and played the most magical show I’ve ever been a part of. I was a fan in the audience at this show 1 year prior, and now I’m on stage playing my songs with these artists at a sold out show at one of the most legendary clubs in the country. It was like in the movie ‘That Thing You Do’ when the guitar player looks back at the drummer and goes ‘How did we get here!?’. I’ll never forget it.

We are sure that you will be hearing Andrew Belle’s music for a long time. We wish him continued success and hope he inspires other artists to reach for their dreams.

His newest record “The Ladder” reached #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts, scored a spot in the Top 100 chart on iTunes, and charted in the Top 25 on the Billboard Heatseakers Chart!
